Found Photos and Girly Things!

For some reason my computer didn't pick up some photos that should have been included in the last post. Here they are!

The hot weather warranted time in the pool. Here's Clara getting ready. Notice the boots.

Photos from our trip to see Grammy!

Grammy and Clara make breakfast. A tutu is apparently required.

Hangin' with Tio and Tia.

Finally, Clara and I spent one of our hotter afternoons painting her toenails for the first time. Here's the results.

She's very proud of her pretty pink toes.

May Adventures

Whew! Sorry for the delay between posts. May was a crazy month full of travels, plays, deadlines, a bout of croup, and lots of laughter. Most of our adventures were not caught on film, but here are some photos that we did manage to take.

We headed to Exeter, CA (Drew's hometown) for his 11 year high school reunion. We had a wonderful time visiting his dad's ranch, staying with the Altermatt family, visiting Great-Gramps, and seeing some old friends.

Papa's ranch.

Melea, Addison, and Clara

Back at home... after a long tech week, Drew took Clara and I to the San Jose Ballet in honor of my birthday. Clara thought it was magical. I think we have a little dancer on our hands!

Dressed up for the ballet! Thanks to Drew for a wonderful birthday present!

Clara loved all the ballerinas.

We headed down south this past week. We spent a night with Grammy, Tia, and Tio in Ojai (no pictures, boo!). Next we spent a week in San Diego where Drew conducted experiments and Clara and I hung out with friends. Finally, we headed up to Redlands, CA for Drew's cousin's wedding (again, no photos). It was a whirlwind from which we are still recovering but we had fun.

Clara and Hannah kick it at Red Robin.

Dinner at the Montgomerys. Here's a photo of Stew, Uncle Blake, and Drew

This picture was taken by Annie Montgomery. I love the joy on Clara's face and Drew's pride as he watches her.

We also had the privilege of visiting Drew's Aunt Jeanne in L.A. just a few days before she passed away after a long struggle with cancer. Jeanne was a phenomenal woman. She was a dancer when she was young and so I've always felt a connection with her. Please keep Drew's family in your prayers this week as we all grieve the loss of a remarkably kind woman.

Survey says....

IT'S ANOTHER GIRL!

Heather, Clara and I are proud to announce that we will soon have another baby girl joining our family. Everything looked perfect and healthy in our sonogram today, and Clara is very excited to have a little sister.

Hi Baby Sister!

Her profile is beautiful, and looks a lot like Clara's at this stage.

She must already be feeling the Santa Cruz vibe: PEACE!

Be sure to scroll down to see the newly-posted pictures of Clara's second birthday.

Clara's Second Birthday

Believe it or not, Clara is already two years old! If you ask her (or just stand near her for a few minutes) she will probably hold up two fingers and tell you she is two. We had a fun weekend celebrating this milestone with family and friends.

Reading with Tia Lauren

Assembling Clara's new table. She was very interested in how all the nuts and bolts fit together, so maybe we have a future mechanical engineer (or factory assembly-line worker :| ) on our hands.

Let the tea parties begin!

Ballet slippers, check.

Clara holds court.

Cheers!

Even Dad gets joins the distinguished company of honored tea-party guests.

Decorating "cupcakes" with Tia.

Ta-da!

Is it time for my party yet??

I've got the balloons!

Tio Rafa is ready for action.

Rollin' with the beep-beep.

Grammy and the birthday girl.

Presenting: The Butterfly Cake!

Mmm...cake. Mmm-Mama. Sweetness all around.

Josh capitalizes on the rare "Eli-at-rest" moment to get down some food.

Aunt Melanie, Nana Pete and Grammy in quite lovely and complementary earth-tones.

Hooray for cake!

"Silly Eli" shows off his mad slide skills.

What a little charmer.

The two-year photo shoot:

What a big girl!
