We named her Elsa Corinne, after my grandmother, Elizabeth Duncan LaForge; Heather's aunt, Elizabeth Ford Butler; and my great-grandmother, Corinne Soucisse Bury. (Elsa is a variant of Elizabeth, which means "consecrated to God".)

We chose to have Heather induced a week early to give her relief from back pain that had plagued her the whole pregnancy. The inducement took a while to kick in, with not a lot of progress from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday. Breaking the water got things jump-started, and by 6:30 a.m. Heather was fully dilated and ready to push. Three contractions worth of pushing, and *PRESTO!* we had another wonderful baby girl! Both Elsa and Heather had been healthy and happy, with the former getting a good deal more sleep. Heather did an incredible job, and I am very proud of her.
Elsa has so far earned high marks in both sleeping and eating, and managed to weigh in two ounces over birth weight at her 6-day appointment.

Clara met Elsa later that birthday afternoon, finding love at first sight. Clara loves to hold "Baby Sister" (with proper supervision), and frequently exclaims "Oh, she's so LITTLE!" or "I love you SO much." This exuberance, tempered with "Big Sister" responsibility, is absent of jealousy and is a delight for us to watch.

It has been fun to watch four generations of women (and Paddy) lining up to snuggle with Elsa.
